Scholaric Grade Entry

There are now three different ways you can enter grades in Scholaric.

Background:
Grade entry has always been optional, you can enter no grade by marking a lesson as complete.  There is a shortcut for this by holding the CTRL key while clicking on the lesson in the planning grid.  This will mark it as complete if you have entered time for the lesson.

Grade entry has always been done by entering what I call a "Grade expression".  This means that rather than having a field for number of points and a field for the number of points possible, we have one field for grade.  This promises a lot of future flexibility in how we enter grades.

Up until now there has been two ways to enter grades:

First as a fraction - indicating number of points awarded and possible with a slash separating:
Note that partial credit is possible as well:
Second as a raw percentage - indicating a simple percent awarded:
Note that this is identical to entering as a fraction with a 100 denominator:

What's New:
As of today, you now have the option to enter your grades as a negative fraction - indicating the number of points missed and the total number of points possible.  Scholaric then does the subtraction for you.
This would be identical to entering 44/53.

Happy Planning!

Is there a way to enter more than one grade for one lesson? For example, for Math, I want to enter a grade for a speed drill, and also a grade for a worksheet that occur on the same day. How would I do that?
Never mind. I figured out how to enter multiple tasks for one subject for one day. When I originally asked the question, I thought I had to enter every task as one item for that day.
Hi! I love how easy it is to use your program. My children have so many assignments that are graded as complete or incomplete, with only tests and quizzes as a "grade". My only question is....will we be able to see some different color designs/templates? It's nice to have an option for a brighter page. :) Otherwise, it's set up is great!
Not at this time. I get some requests for that, but other things are ahead of it.
Do you forsee including transcripts as a part of your program?
I do - have been working on it some more this summer.
Yay! :)
Is it possible to calculate grades by semester (or to shorten the grading period)?
Sure, create periods for any duration you want, they can overlap so you have semester and year.
Thanks. I guessed as much, but I can't figure out how to change the duration of a period.
Never mind. I figured it out!
